CIBFM establishes working relations with counterparts in Turkey

THE Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the exchange of information and mutual assistance with Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (OIC-SESRIC) and also with Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI) in Istanbul, Turkey.

The objectives of the MoUs are to establish working relations between CIBFM and OIC-SESRIC as well as ADFIMI in human capacity building efforts for the financial industry in Brunei Darussalam.

Some of the areas of cooperation identified in the MoU are in organising conferences, symposia and seminars, conducting training programmes and exchanging of knowledge, expertise, research papers and studies.

It is also hoped that this strategic cooperation will bring forth opportunities for both parties, in particular for CIBFM to explore long-term strategic development in the Asia-Europe region. Signing on behalf of CIBFM was Suriati binti Haji Mohamad Taib, Acting Chief Executive
Officer of CIBFM, while OIC-SESRIC was represented by Musa Kulaklikaya, Director General of OIC-SESRIC and ADFIMI by Nuri Birtek, Secretary General of ADFIMI. Also present at the ceremony was Yusof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Managing Director of AMBD, senior officers from AMBD, CIBFM, OIC-SESRIC and ADFIMI.
