Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance And Management (CIBFM), with the support of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), organised the first Muzakarah Ilmuan Kewangan Islam (MIKI) of 2019 on Tuesday, 21 Jamadilakhir 1440 corresponding to 26 February 2019, at the Main Auditorium, Design and Technology Building, Kg Anggerek Desa, Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The forum, carrying the theme “Islamic Finance: Tools for Alleviating Poverty and Hunger”, was attended by AMBD officers, representatives from Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam (TBD), Insurans Islam TAIB (IITSB), Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP), Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Jabatan Mufti Kerajaan, lecturers and students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), as well as members from charitable organisation and NGOs.
The forum saw the panel discussed the theme, moderated by YM Pg Dr Hj Hasnol Alwee Pg Hj Md Salleh, Lecturer, UBD, with a line-up of speakers featuring YM Awang Haji Abd Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary, Majlis Ugama Islam Brunei (MUIB), YM Dayang Nur Syukrina binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Roselan, Manager, Financial Consumer Issues, AMBD, YM Pg Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pg Haji Sellahhuddin, Co-founder, Projek Bina Ukhwah, Winner of Queen’s Young Leaders 2018, and YM Awang Haji Muhammad Iqbal Fakhri bin Haji Damit, Founder, Hand4handbn, Winner of Commonwealth Point of Light 2018
Muzakarah Ilmuan Kewangan Islam (MIKI) is one of CIBFM’s platform for professional open discussion focusing issues and trends in the Islamic Finance Industry in Brunei Darussalam.
