On course for success

CIBFM ORGANISES INSIGHT INTO ISLAMIC FINANCE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP 2019 “SO YOU WANT TO START A BUSINESS?”

Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance And Management (CIBFM), with the support of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), organised Insight Into Islamic Finance and Entrepreneurship: “So You Want To Start A Business?” on Tuesday, 13 Zulkaedah 1440 corresponding to 16 July 2019, at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Building, Brunei Darussalam.

The panelists speaking during the event consisted of Brunei’s own local, young experienced entrepreneurs and an officer from Bank Usahawan: Yang Mulia Awang Haji Muhd Najib bin Haji Awang Damit, Officer & Secretary, Syariah Advisory Board, Bank Usahawan Berhad; Yang Mulia Dayang Santy binti Allim, Founder, Sparkly Domestic Divas; Yang Mulia Dayang Hanii binti Masir, Creative Director, Covered by AnNisa; and Yang Mulia Dayang Salmiah binti Haji Tarang, Owner, Harum Kindana Catering, Winner of Anugerah Cemerlang Propaz.

The panel discussion was chaired by Yang Mulia Dayang Dr Hajah Mona Yati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Md Kassim, Founder, MuBn Learning & Growth Group. During the event, the panelists shared their journey on how they began and the challenges that they had to face and overcome, followed by a question and answer session.

Attending as the guest of honour was YM Dayang Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat, Acting Assistant Managing Director of AMBD, as Acting Chief Executive Officer of CIBFM, who also presented tokens of appreciation to Yang Mulia Dayang Dr Hajah Mona Yati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Md Kassim and the panelists.

The objective of today’s Insight into Islamic Finance and Entrepreneurship was to help to provide jobseekers and aspiring entrepreneurs with information and firsthand accounts on how to run a successful business from the very people who have succeeded in that venture. The next Insight to Islamic Finance and Entrepreneurship is tentatively scheduled for October.
