CIBFM ORGANISES TALKING TECH SEMINAR 2019

Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance And Management (CIBFM), with the support of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), recently organised a one-day seminar titled “Talking Tech” today, 24 Rabiulawal 1441 corresponding to 21 November 2019, at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Hotel & Country Club, Jerudong.

Attending as the Guest of Honour of the event was Dayang Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar, Managing Director of AMBD and Chairman of the CIBFM board. The event was also attended by representatives from AMBD, United Overseas Bank (UOB), Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Progresif, Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam, and Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), among others.

CIBFM invited Mr. Brett King, a world-renowned Fintech expert, bestselling author and startup founder that had advised the Obama administration on Fintech policy, to speak. Mr Brett King has also previously advised regulators and bank boards around the world on technology transformations.

The morning session started off with a keynote presentation on Banking 4.0, which described the journey from Bank 2.0, and the major technological disruption that is expected to come in the next 15-20 years. This was followed by a Q&A session titled “Hard Talk”, moderated by Awang Haji Mohammad Khairul Zaki Bin Haji Mohidin, Head of Fintech, AMBD, which on Regulatory Technology (RegTech) and Market Focus.

In the afternoon, Mr King led two workshops. The first workshop focused on customer experience where he shared best practices and approaches to create and provide great customer experiences in their respective organisations. The second workshop focused on the concept of Digital Scorecard where participants assess the digital readiness of their organisations.
