On course for success

CIBFM ORGANISES THE BOARDS’ EXECUTIVE EDUCATION (BEE) PROGRAMME

 

Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance And Management (CIBFM), with the support of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam and in association with Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) Malaysia, recently organised a three-day Boards’ Executive Education (BEE) Programme virtually.

Following the popularity of last year’s BEE Programme, this second BEE programme is carried out with the theme of “Enhancing Board Performance”. The programme attracted a diverse audience made up of members of boards, corporate secretaries, Chief Executive Officers and other C-Suite Executives to experience a unique virtual hybrid programme that consists of workshops and forums. The event saw an amazing line-up of local and international experts that shared their experiences, practices, and strategies for success.

Throughout the three days, the BEE programme featured workshops on the topics of “Corporate Governance and the Independent Non-Executive Director”, “Business Strategy and the Agile Board” and “Shariah Governance”. The programme also included a forum featuring the topics, “Corporate Governance 2020”, “Independent Director: The Missing Piece?” and “Strategy: Agile Board Leadership”.

Among those speaking in the BEE Programme were local and international speakers namely, Ahmad Jefri bin Abdul Rahman, Assistant Managing Director, Brunei Investment Agency; Chris Bennett, Director, BPA Australasia; Dr Aznan Hassan, Shariah Board Member of CS Financial, Malaysia and Dato’ Dr Nik Ramlah Nik Mahmood, Independent Director, Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

The BEE programme is one of many events and initiatives organised by CIBFM to fulfill their role in developing the human capacity of Negara Brunei Darussalam as the Centre of Excellence for the finance industry.
