CIBFM Rebrands to Brunei Institute of Leadership and Islamic Finance

Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) recently held a rebranding launch on Monday, 10 Rejab 1442 corresponding 22 February 2021 at Tarindak D’Seni, Bandar Seri Begawan. During the event, it was also announced that CIBFM will be operating under a new name: Brunei Institute of Leadership & Islamic Finance (BILIF).

 

Attending as the Guest of Honour to officiate and unveil the new name and corporate image  was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs, as the Deputy Chairman of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam’s (AMBD) Board of Directors. Also in attendance during the event were BILIF Board of Directors, senior officers from AMBD, officials from government agencies, as well as members from the finance industry and private sector.

 

Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar, Managing Director, AMBD as Chairperson of BILIF’s Board of Directors, in her speech, highlighted that BILIF would continue to focus on its role in addressing skill gaps and providing upskilling and re-skilling opportunities, not just to the financial industry, but across the private and public sectors. She also mentioned that BILIF will remain committed to further enhance and grow local talents, in line with its new vision which is to create a world of industry-leading professionals equipped with high intellect and insight, particularly in the areas of Islamic finance.

 

Prior to that, Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat, Acting Assistant Managing Director, AMBD as BILIF Acting Chief Executive Officer gave her welcoming remarks.
