Amongst the objectives of the event are to strengthen relationships between BILIF and its stakeholders and clients, as well as provide a platform for HR professionals to network and learn from one another. The annual event discusses HR trends and issues as well as strategies for human capital development for the participants’ respective organisations.

The event began with a welcoming remark by Yang Mulia Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat, Chief Executive Officer, BILIF. In her welcoming remarks, she highlighted that HR professionals are the strategic partner for all departments in an organisation, who should act as the champion of professional growth and self-development for all employees. She also encouraged HR professionals to continue to expand their expertise in tandem with the growth of the organisation, especially in the ‘new’ normal.

The event then proceeded with a presentation entitled “Engaging the Post-Pandemic Workforce in a Hybrid Work Environment” by Michelle Lee, Talent and Transformation Leader, Human Capital, PwC Malaysia. Ms Lee shared her experiences on how her organisation has dealt with the challenges brought about by COVID-19. She also discussed the support ecosystem that HR professionals can provide their colleagues with as countries transition into the endemic phase.

The event was then followed by a second presentation, entitled “Enabling HR for the Nex Gen Employee Experience” by Ridhima Khanduja, Partner and Country Head of Kincentric Malaysia. In her presentation, she spoke about emerging employee experience trends and subsequently, their implications on the roles and skills required of HR professionals.

In the event, BILIF also shared their upcoming programmes and certifications, including the HR Symposium which will be held on 24 May this year. This event will dive deeper into the current issues and trends in HR management including ways to handle an increasingly multigenerational workforce, employee retention and promotion of employee well-being, among others.
