Brunei Institute of Leadership & Islamic Finance (BILIF) achieved a new milestone as they were awarded the International Finance Awards 2024 under the category “Best Islamic Finance Training Institution – Brunei 2024” during the 12th Annual International Finance Award which was held on 21 February 2025 at Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, Thailand.
Attending the ceremony to receive the award on behalf of BILIF was Awang Afero Eswandy Mohamad, Acting Chief Executive Officer of BILIF.
Organised by International Finance Magazine, United Kingdom, this esteemed award recognises industry talent, leadership skills, net worth and capability on a global scale. Award recipients represent various sectors, including finance, banking, brokerage, insurance, utilities, and telecommunications, primarily from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Additionally, the award ceremony aims to acknowledge and honour financial and relevant institutions for their outstanding achievements, encompassing innovative endeavours in corporate social responsibility (CSR), charitable initiatives, robust corporate governance practices, and contributions that positively impact the global finance community, alongside their exceptional performance within their specific domains.
Prior to the event, BILIF also organised meetings with the Islamic Bank of Thailand, the Thai Banking Academy, and the Stock Exchange of Thailand. These meetings aimed to explore potential bilateral collaborations between BILIF and the respective organisations, particularly in human capital development and enhancing expertise in Islamic finance.
