Established in 2010, Brunei Institute of Leadership & Islamic Finance (BILIF), formerly known as Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) provides learning solutions, events and services for human capacity development in the areas of Islamic Banking, Finance and Management.
As the Centre of Excellence for the finance industry in Brunei Darussalam under the purview of Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), our mission is to shape future leaders, experts and innovators in the areas of Islamic finance and leadership through immersive programmes and world-class events. As of 2020, BILIF has conducted over 400 programmes and 50 events for more than 10,000 participants, including a new suite of Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) programmes and online events.
BILIF has forged strategic partnerships with local and international organisations over the past 10 years that has allowed us to improve the services, expertise and opportunities that can be provided to our clients. Appointed by BDCB, BILIF is the official licensing examination centre for Financial Planning Practitioners’ Programme (FPPP) and Qualifying Examination for Insurance/Takaful Agents (QEFITA). BILIF is also the official test centre for all examinations under Chartered Bankers Institute (CBI), Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), International Compliance Association (ICA) and The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) in Brunei Darussalam.
Moving towards the future, BILIF aspires to grow its international presence and provide the highest quality education and services for the development of skilled, competent and visionary individuals to achieve the nation’s Wawasan 2035 to establish Brunei Darussalam as an International Islamic Finance hub.
