The MSc Banking and Finance is a comprehensive and rigorous programme designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and insights required for a successful career in the dynamic field of banking and finance. The programme provides a solid foundation in key concepts, theories, and practices, whilst also addressing the contemporary challenges and opportunities faced by the banking and finance industry. Throughout the programme, you will delve into various aspects of banking and finance, including financial markets, institutions, risk management, digital banking, sustainable finance and Human Resource Management and Leadership. The curriculum is designed to foster a deep understanding of theoretical concepts, analytical tools, and practical applications, enabling students to navigate complex financial landscapes and make informed decisions.
The programme promotes an international perspective, recognising the global nature of the banking industry. You will explore the impact of globalisation, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends on financial markets and institutions. Pre-Requisite
To attain a place on our postgraduate degrees, you need either:
- A 2.1 honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognised institution, or
- To have achieved Chartered Associateship with us through the ‘qualification’ route.
If English is not your first language, you will need to achieve an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.5 or equivalent.
If you don't meet the requirements above but have equivalent experience and qualifications, we will consider your application and may still accept you.
In this case, you will need to show that you can achieve at master’s level, and contribute to the debates, discussions and work of the learning set. We may ask to interview you or require an extra piece of written work with your application.
Who Should Attend
- Our programme is designed for professionals already working in banking and finance. Learning and teaching is centred on the Virtual Learning Platform and is self-paced study, with both synchronous and asynchronous support from your module academic.
