Expert’s Profile

Ms Goh Ai Yat, is an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Institute of Management for the RMIT University and University London degree programs. She is also a director and the joint Managing Consultant of a training & consultancy company. Prior to setting up this company ten years ago, she was the Deputy General Manager of Sogelease (an associate of SOCIETE GENERALE – a leading French bank) based in Malaysia. She had also held various management positions at Hong Leong Finance (M) Bhd, United Orix Leasing Bhd and Supreme Finance (M) Bhd.

Ai Yat has extensive experience in banking and finance. She is a much sought-after course facilitator, in particular for courses on marketing & business development, selling and credit evaluation. She has conducted many such courses for bankers, managers and businessmen from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Besides training, Ai Yat is also actively involved in advising and helping businessmen in matters such as identifying and structuring their financing needs, preparation of feasibility reports, development of new markets and business tie-ups. She also assists those preparing their companies for listing on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

During the last 3 years Ai Yat has also been regularly conducting entrepreneurial development courses for aspirant entrepreneurs, especially those who were affected by job separation exercises. She is the principal course leader for the Self-Employment Training Programmer (which she assisted in developing) offered by the Singapore Institute of Management. Among some of the related programmes, which she has conducted in-house for MNCs are the Entrepreneurial Manager, The Entrepreneurial Employee, Thriving On Challenges, Developing Business and Smart Networking.

Ai Yat is currently teaching Entrepreneurial Process and Entrepreneurial Ventures for the RMIT University BBBA degree at the Singapore Institute of Management.

Ai Yat herself has started and operated a number of small business very successfully.
