The term ?excellence? refers to a drive from ?inside?. The English dictionary describes it as the state of possessing good qualities in an eminent degree. At workplace, ?excellence? is always associated to a person?s achievement with reference to his or her job. Being excellent and competent as an employee, no matter at what level, is significantly important for bosses, as they strongly emphasize on performance excellence, personal competency, responsibility and effectiveness. Effective self-management and working productively, either independently or as a team is critical to both the employee?s professional success and the boss/bosses, which eventually will lead to the success of the entire organization. The ?Mindset Coaching: Personal Excellence? is part of CIBFM?s Personal Core Competency Development Programme, customized to expose participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required for success at workplace. Excellence is not about being a perfectionist. Throughout the course, the CIBFM?s facilitator will not work on the ?what?, but will emphasize more on the ?how?, because individuals are unique in their own way. Participants will explore how they can contribute to their organization through effective work management skills, aligned with their organization?s corporate culture and values. Ms Suriati Haji Mohamad Taib is Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance And Management (CIBFM), the training arm of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam. Suriati has a strong passion for individual development and human capacity building initiatives. She was heavily involved in the restructuring of CIBFM which was then under the management of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, establishing it as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ministry of Finance, Brunei Darussalam. In March 2013, CIBFM was transferred under the ownership and purview of the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD). With this new restructuring, the role of CIBFM?s learning and development function was realigned to the needs and priorities of the financial industry, thus providing direct collaborations and participations from the financial communities. Prior to joining AMBD, she spent 10 years working at the Brunei International Financial Centre (BIFC) of Ministry of Finance, where she was in-charge of trainings and promotion.
