1. Brunei Institute of Leadership & Islamic Finance (BILIF) was recently awarded the Global Good Governance (3G) awards in the categories “3G Championship Award in Education 2024” and “3G Human Resource Development Award 2024” during the 9th annual 3G Awards Ceremony held in Shangri-la, The Fort Manila, Philippines on Monday, 20 Syawal 1445H corresponding to 29 April 2024M.
2. Present to receive the awards on behalf of BILIF was Awang Haji Afero Eswandy bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Deputy Chief Executive Officer BILIF. During the ceremony, he expressed his gratitude for receiving the prestigious awards which acknowledge BILIF’s growing contribution towards human capital development to create a world of industry-leading professionals, particularly in the area of Islamic finance. He also expressed his appreciation to Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) for its leadership and guidance, as well as to BILIF stakeholders, clients and partners for their continuous support.
3. The award ceremony, organised by Cambridge International Financial Advisory (IFA) celebrates good governance, transparency and social responsibility. The event also recognises leadership efforts of individuals, governments, corporations and non-governmental organisations that practice good governance principles and are innovative towards improving the said areas. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the public sector, corporate sector and social sector as well as philanthropists from around the globe.
4. Following the event, BILIF also held work visits to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and The Insurance Commission in Manila. The work visits aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation and collaboration between BILIF and the two organisations, particularly towards human capital development and increasing expertise in the areas of Islamic finance and takaful.
